Grape shears were used in the 19th century to cut grape stalks into single portions. The long handles were specifically designed to reach into a cluster of grapes. They have blunt tips, to avoid puncturing the grapes. One blade is perforated, the other is straight. This silver plated grape shears are decorated with raccoons climbing the vines, trying to reach the grapes. Thanks to my mom, for finding these!
I found these Kleen Cut Lefty scissors and Koenig 4E 10cm sewing scissors at an antique fair yesterday. The blades on both are a little rusty, but the edges are clean and they both work surprisingly well.
